This is the beginning of something good. A chance to share with all of you a little bit of what goes through my mind, and why should you care? I don’t really know, and to be honest, it doesn’t really matter; but ultimately every piece of writing circulating the universe is someone’s point of view or expertise.
What’s my expertise? Pretty much everything. What’s my point of view? You will have to wait and find out.
Couponing- the other day I was asked what’s a mans take on this dictatorship that females have on such activity? Well, here I go… whether you are single, married, divorced or “it’s complicated” there should be one thing that bonds you all, and that’s the desire to save money! Because it doesn’t matter if you are blue collar or a business owner, there is only one person I know that hates saving money; and that’s the blonde baby from the Capital One commercial with Jimmy Fallon.
And what better way to stretch your dollar than by doing a little research and putting together some coupons… yup I said it, COUPONS!
Let me breakdown that idea; Couponing is no longer this backbreaking act of chasing down newspapers like a mad man or woman around your neighborhood (very creepy with neighbors btw) to then recruit the help of 7 people for 48 hours to organize them. Couponing nowadays is as simple as clicking on a link directly from your smartphone and allowing the cashier to scan the screen of your device. If at this point you are going, what is a smartphone? Then join me for next weeks blog about Dark Ages vs Enlightenment.
Think about it, it’s never been any easier to have the entire world at your fingertips! Take today for example; I’m in the middle of putting together our 3rd bedroom, which has been neglected since we moved into this house back in August. So my wife and I went to Walmart, ended up getting decent little futon, some things here and there so I can put together my race car room/man cave…. Obviously that meant getting a flat screen TV, given the fact that we already have fairly large screens in the main rooms of the house I was only interested on a medium size screen that would look good and not take too much room. We head over to the electronics to do some research, and BOOM, I pull out my smartphone and get on Amazon amongst other online only retailers, not only did I find out that Walmart had the same price as most of them but I didn’t have to order it. Possibly pay for shipping and the best part; wait for it to arrive! Is that a great example of couponing? NO, but it sure is of being smart with your money, being savvy, and using today’s technology for your advantage.
Is couponing for women only? Heck no, I am blessed to have a great career, enjoy a great income to support my family and spoil us a bit here and there, and I am certainly not too good or too busy to save money. Every month when I get a haircut the very first thing I do is ask my wife if she has a coupon for $1 or $2 dollars off. That means the tip I give to the stylist is pretty much free! Every time I need a new pair of shoes or dress clothes for work we look for online deals or coupons that we can redeem at local retailers.
You may have to hang on tight with me until I get this whole blogging thing down, my first few posts will most likely lack in structure and take away messages…. Lets face it, they will probably seem like rants or things that you already knew and be like duhh!
Jerry360 is the name of it, and if you care about anything of what I just said, please let me know, if you dont… then positive (only) reinforcement will be appreciated it.
