So this is what is like to live with 3 girls huh? I can safely say that most of my life has revolved around around all “manly” things, even though I lived with my mom my entire life I am after all her only son; therefore everything was always focused on me and my likes. Rock music, car racing, mountain biking, working on cars and so on, all things that involve mud and grease; for the most part things that girls could care less about. Fast forward a few years and add a wife and couple children and I find myself living in a Disney Princess type of environment…
A very girly and feminine wife, a 9 year old girl and a 15 month old baby girl that share one thing in common; the belief that pink and sparkly looks good on everything and that they much rather live in a princess castle instead of our Indianapolis townhome. How are the three princesses? my Dad asks when he calls to say hello from Mexico couple times a week, he perhaps senses that even after the years I still try to influence the girls but mainly the youngest and most innocent 15 month old into liking cars and motorcycles instead of baby dolls and magic wands.
Now don’t get me wrong, Im not one of those pushy parents that forces their children into hobbies or sports, I simply, as any parent would do; attempt to influence my kids on the activities and experiences that I believe have given me great joy and and taught productive discipline that in one way or another have made me the proud parent that I am today.
And after all, I cant say that having to put on sunglasses to walk into our excruciatingly pink girls bathroom is really all that bad (I just try not to go in there very often)…I love my Disney Princess lifestyle and wouldn’t change it for the world 🙂
